h2ocean Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Hello all i am installing via ftp. I have copied the contents of the catalog only folder to my server, the install completes and gives no error messages but if i click the admin or catalog i get "document not found on server" I went back and changed the path that install automaticly generates to my root directory and then ger errors on files / export/..... and ther is no export directory in my root directory. I also would like to know if finaly when i get this working is ther a simple interface to allow me to add products to the database and particular pages or do i need to update the sql database and change the code in the pages to querry that particular result. Thanks for any help you all can offer.
♥Vger Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Just FTP'ing the files to your server does not 'install' osCommerce. There is an Install procedure for that. You need to set up a blank database via phpMyAdmin or your web hosting control panel, and then go to http://www.yourdomain.com/install (if you are installing in the root directory). I'd suggest reading the Knowledge Base article on Installation, via the Documentation link at top of the page. Vger

h2ocean Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 I appologise for leaving that out a sql database is in place and the install adds all the tables and sample data to the database.
