Alex Clarke Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Just posting to get some advice about customizing the layout of my shop. For example, you can buy templates from certain websites with osCommerce allready built in. How is the merging of templates and osc done? Cheers, Alex.
wizardsandwars Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Well, it depends on what templates you are talking aobut. There's a banner in the upper right hand portion of the screen for a company that sells integrated templates. I find these templates to be a little on the bland side. There are also a couple of different 'template engines' found in the contributions section. However, these ony come with a few basic teamplates, that there really arent many templates created for these other than a few basic designs. These are mainly for developers who are going to be integrating html templates into their designs themselves. Integrating a standard HTML template and OSC really isn't very hard, as long as you have a fundamental knowledge of how OSC works, and some experience working with HTML and PHP. I've integrated a number of templates, and basically, it's just manipulation iwth the header, footer, column left, column right and stylesheet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
