jewelrytrends Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Hi, Is this contrib. support still active. I installed this and have the problem that my pic. are showing as "not availiable" in froogle and also after being able to upload twice without a problem I have now a "overwrite denied" problem, if anyone can help me with this, Pleaaaaaaaaaase.
Guest Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 The contribution was offered to the community but not much interest has been generated. I have several contributions that need support and do not have unlimited time...so I have to allocate my resources to do the most good for the most number of people. That particular contribution has great potential but is pretty low on my merit list. IF there is enough interest by the community I will continue development...however, there has not been too much and thus I have to spend more time on other contributions. Bobby
♥bruyndoncx Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 I actually just read the support thread for the contribution. In the thread a second version is mentioned, but I did not see it in the contribution area ... I'm interested to see how I could use this to create a new CSV or XML feed for a customer (abcaz) format, plus I also need to get a froogle going on keukenlust ... So bobby if there is a v2, can you share it ? KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support). So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?! jewelrytrends Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 I'm sorry to hear that, because I think it was a great contrib. I'm not a pro in coding and php like you, chemo. So for know I will remove this contrib, and will keep my eyes open to see if it will re-start.
Guest Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Carine, v2 of the base class morphed into a class that supports Froogle better but lost its abstraction. If the contribution were to grow in that direction that it was heading then it would be recreating the wheel...Calvin already has a great Froogle feeder that is well established and mature in development. A person may have 1,001 ideas but only a few are embraced by the community. The base class was one of those that never garnered significant interest so I moved on to other contributions. If you want a base class that can handle different formats (CSV, XML, etc) it shouldn't be too hard to get something thrown together. Let me know your specifications and I'll see what I can do... Act 1 -> Carine's Thumbnail Category Browse Act 2 -> Carine's CSV and XML feed :) Bobby

As you know, I'm fairly active on the osC forum...but what you don't know is that I'm also active on 4 other open source projects to varying degrees. Some I just offer free code like this community...others I am a member of the development team. Each takes time and on top of that I have to support the contributions (or addons, modifications, modules, plugin, or whatever else that project calls them). Then, at the end of the day I have to spend time with my family and pay the bills :) The hard part isn't coding a script to specification...it's finding the time to do it and support it properly.
