Guest
Hey everyone, So my host has a little hard drive fail and i lost all my data for 7 days. When everything was resored the admin login for OSC did not work. The host says they don't know what's going on and i don't know what's going. Freaken out to be honest..... Is there some kind of default password or why would it have been changed due to a restore? Can anyone tell me why this has happened? EEeeee... 241
The Admin does not have a password protected login as default, so either you had an .htaccess file login in which case this can be easilt resolved by yourself or your host deleting the .htaccess file and recreating the .htaccess file protection. The other would be that you have a contribution installed such as admin access with levels which stores the login information in the database, if this is the case then you can replace the login details in the database with known values to allow access and then change the password and user from the Admin. ArtRat
oscommerce admin comes with no protection or passwords. you had to add them yourself. if you had password protected your directory using .htaccess you can just delete the htaccess file from that folder. then create a new one. use your web host cpanel to get to the folder. you might even see a password protect area in your cpanel. try removing passwords from that then remaking them. edit : yeah what he said..... :P
