Using drop down boxes to find a product??

I have a website that sells printer ink cartridges and want to set up a series of drop down boxes to display compatible ink cartridges like:

 

Choose your printer

Manufacturer>>>>>Type of Printer>>>>Model Number

 

 

Then when these have been completed the site would display compatible ink cartridges to that printer.

 

Has this been done before or is there a contribution for it to save me reinventing the wheel
