The e-commerce.

E-Books

I was promised by my ISP (Inmotion Hosting in LA), that osCommerce could be setup to allow automatic e-book downloads. That is to say, once a patron pays via PayPal, PayPal then sends an email to osCommerce, which updates order status automatically to ?delivered,? and sends an email to the patron containing a link that will allow the patron to download the e-book.

Well, after 3 payments of $45 per hour, my ISP has so far only been able to achieve a situation where I have to go in and manually set the order status to ?delivered?, then it sends the email with the link.

It?s close, but not exactly what was promised, and now they want an additional 2 hours at $45 each to figure out why it can?t do the final step. A little help much appreciated.

Navin,

Here's the email on the subject I got from my ISP. If you tell me where to look, I can go to my osCommerce to get a more definitive answer.

"Dear Kenth,

It appears that the version of the PayPal module that is in your cart is one version shy of the one that performs the order status update that you want it to perform. The new version can be installed by our professional services team and looks like it would take about an hour to two hours at the most to install.

Please let us know if this is something you would like us to take care of and feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Best Regards,

Adam
