Selling items by weight

I have a food store which sells some products by weight, eg potatoes at 65p per kg. Other products are priced per item, eg ?1 per bag of potatoes. Is there a way to have both on oscommerce?

 

I can't find any contributions or discussions on this....Can anyone point me in the right direction? Please?

Hi There Geoff! This isn't a problem at all! You simply say in the product description the the price is per kg for those items, and set 1 kg of it as the default product. You can use attributes/options if you want to offer partial kgs. For the other items, again in the product description, state the price is per bag, and use 1 bag as the default product. If somebody wants 5 kg they can set that in their shopping cart, or they can click add to cart 5 times.
