Shipping problems

I have set my shipping under table rate as follows:

 

0.3:1.50,0.6:3.00,1:4.50,1.5:6.00,2:6.30,4:8.00,6:8.50,8:10.50,10:11.00,20:12.50

,25:25.00,35:30.00

 

However if I add a product to the cart of weight 23kg, the shipping displays as ?30, but as you can see above it should be ?25, why would this be?

 

Also, if someone chooses to pay on pickup, how can I allow my customers to go through the checkout without adding shipping to there order as they obviously don't need to pay shipping if they pickup.

 

I would appreciate any help given

Look under Configuration --> Shipping/Packaging - TareWeight, and set that to zero. See if that helps. Also, make sure that under Table Rate the Handling Fee is set to zero.

Thanks Vger, thats sorted it out. Would you know how to allow customers to pass through the checkout without having to incur shipping if they choose my 'pickup' option. I was thinking of changing my flat rate to zero and changing the title to something like 'No delivery charge', is this a good way to do it or is there a better way?

If you had free shipping regardless of the shipping option, you could set the shipping weight to zero and add to the front of the table "0.1:0.00".

The problem is that i can't put a products weight to zero as other people may not choose to use 'pickup' as their shipping option and so the table rate for that particular product still being zero would mean that the shipping for a customer wanting delivery would still be ?0 rather than the proper cost. I hope you understand, i don't seem to have explained it in ver good english ;)

I understand what you are trying to do, and it is quite easy to do it - but the customer has to select 'Pick Up From Store' as their Shipping option during checkout.

This will be separate from the Table Rate shipping, and it involves only new files, so you don't have to touch existing files.
