The tax part has a mind of it's own!

......It's taxing every state.

......It's taxing the shipping, too.

I turned OFF all taxes and it's still doing it!

My settings are.....

Countries - United States

Zones - All mainland U.S. states plus Alaska & Hawaii

Tax Zones - 0

Tax Classes - 0

Tax Rates - 0

What's the deal?

I want Arizona only taxed and just the product, not the shipping.

Help!

I'm having the same problem. I am selling from California but when anybody from any other state orders something, it adds the California tax. I ONLY want to tax California addresses.

I've tried about every scenario I could think of but no luck.

Anyone know what to do I would aprreciate it.

As to taxing shipping, you have shipping set as a taxable item.

I have shipping as a taxable item? Well, that makes sense. But where did I do that at? I looked and can't find where I'd change that.

Not easy to find. Shipping taxable is controlled on the edit screen of each shipping module you have installed. So, it you have UPS, USPS and any other shipping modules installed, you should check near the bottom of each edit screen to be sure shipping is set to non-taxable, unless, of course, you live in Texas, Florida, and maybe a few other states.

Thanks Geotex for that link but when I do as told by clicking on the California folder I get an SQL error:

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-20, 20' at line 1

select a.association_id, a.zone_country_id, c.countries_name, a.zone_id, a.geo_zone_id, a.last_modified, a.date_added, z.zone_name from zones_to_geo_zones a left join countries c on a.zone_country_id = c.countries_id left join zones z on a.zone_id = z.zone_id where a.geo_zone_id = 2 order by association_id limit -20, 20
