Uptech
I am currently using a web service that offers oscommerce to the top service plan and all you have to do is click install, what i was wondering is that i am opening a new website and i want to just get the basic plan, is it easy to actually install all the files yourself? ♥Vger
Depends completely on the hosting company and the way their system is set up. PowWeb for instance offers osCommerce as a 1-click install, but only into a folder called 'catalog'. Try to change that to the root and it will fail. Also, they run osCommerce as a cgi executable, so each page has to have the cgi-bin references at the top of the page - a lot of work if you are running a manual install. If your hosting company uses Windoze servers then you may have permission problems if you try to run it as a manual install. So, no clear answer on this one I'm afraid.
