Product Notify

Hi,

 

Could anyone tell me how the 'product notify' section works in osc. I'm setting up my website, and have been creating accounts and trying out some features, but i can't work out how product notify works. Obviously the customer is asking to be notified of any changes to a particular product, but how does the store owner know what has been clicked as I can't find anything in my admin that tells me this.

 

I would appreciate any help.

When someone completes a purchase, on the checkout_success.php page they are invited to tick a box if they would like to be notified of any updates to this product or group of products. From then on it's automatic - you add new products to the catalog and, if it is relevant, they get an e-mail telling them of the new product.

 

Try this out for yourself - make a test order, tick the box, and then add something new to that same category and see what happens.
