I am looking to do a store for awnings, and i was wondering if it is possible to make the soter products with drop down menues that would give the person option for different sizes, colors, styles and designs. And whenever they change what the drop down bar is it adjusts the price to reflect the difference.

Yes this is possible. If you go into admin, click on catalog and then click on product attributes. here, u can define different options for your products and set the price accordingly. For instance, I sell a knife that comes in different colors and sizes. I have the option in a pull down menu to select the color and size adding the appropriate amount to the base price.
