tonysam Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I would like to sell the same products for different prices meaning if I sell 1 bottle for 49.00 I would like to also sell 1 bottle for 39.00 but when a person buys a bottle for 49.00 I would never want them to know that they would be able to buy that product for 39.00 Is there a way to make sure that no could ever get to my catalog.
Jeremy at oddly enough Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 4 different stores, with 4 different domain names. Seems like cheating on your wife though, why take the risk of making your customers angry at you, for short term gain? Jeremy
tonysam Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 I need to sell different product that I would not like all the customers to see is this possible
Rob123 Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I can not figure out the business reason for your request. But then again, I'm a developer and not a marketing genius. Have you considered giving out coupon codes that give a discounts for certain purchases. If so, search the contributions. HTH, Robert
tonysam Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 are you saying that it is not possible. It not hard If I sell vibrators and I would like to sell art/pictures I dont think I will be giving cupons out I just dont want the art people to see that I am selling vibrators get it. These are just examples but it is pretty sright foward cant it be done.
tonysam Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 Is there anyone here from the os commerce support team
Rob123 Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I will never say something is "not possible". Given the appropiate resources (time/money/skills) anything is possible. Your initial inquiry has to do with giving two different prices for the same physical product. My response was to offer a discount code. Your follow up has to do with selling two different physical products that you do not want to sell to the same customer market. There is a contribution that you may want to consider. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1730 If this does not help you, you may want to provide more background and the "business reason" for your request. There are plenty of volunteers answering questions, however they usually need details to answer them correctly. Robert

Kindly disregard my two viable solutions for your two different questions. Pardon the fact that I suggested that you may want to provide more information. Humbly yours, Robert
AWWWW.WAHWAH Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Ok before everyone gets their panties in a twind ... is that a real word? ... I believe from reading real quick all the post ... our friend wants to sell one product at different price levels for different customers. I would do TotalB2B or you can download several contributions that allow different price levels for customers. You just have to set a level for each customer after they register. Keep the peace ... because if you don't ... I WILL. There's a new sheriff in town and I have itchy trigger fingers. :D
Jeremy at oddly enough Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 You might not need your business analyzed, but if you want good answers, you need to provide good information. If you want any answers, you might brush up on your manners! Jeremy
Rob123 Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 ...There's a new sheriff in town and I have itchy trigger fingers. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congrats on your assignment. I hope that I wont be the first one that you'll need to shoot at high noon. In hindsight, my reaction was inappropiate. I guess I should get a thicker skin. Robert
Jeremy at oddly enough Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Mine's live, and I'm getting a bit cavalier at this point, I make a copy, and change the files right on the live store at this point. If it doesn't work I'll try one fix, then revert to the original file before regruoping to try again! I really ought to do it on a test site, to get them to work properly first! Jeremy
