janetgot Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Hello, I'm fairly new to setting up SSL, and am not sure what the best path to go is. My client's host provider has their secure servers on a separate box than their non secure web servers. The tech support person doesn't think that OSCommerce will work with a shared certificate unless it's all on one box. Is this true? If so, would it be better to purchase a dedicated certificate, or move to another host that will allow shared certificates? I'm not sure what (besides cost) the disadvantage to a dedicated certificate might be. Thanks! Janet
♥Vger Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 It's definitely better to purchase a full ssl cert rather than use any shared cert - no matter where it is located - and at around $49 a year plus dedicated ip address it's not going to break the bank. Vger
