How can i retreive the date a product is available

Heya,

 

Can anyone tell me how i can retrieve products_date_available for a particular product and output it into a piece of code in functions/general.php.

 

I've tried simply typing $products_date_available but that just returns a NULL value.

 

Any ideas?

Please elaborate on how you intend to use the code...do you want it as a function to use anywhere or do you want to pass it to another function?
