price going to $0.00 using PayPal IPN

I'm using the PayPal Sandbox to test my payment/shipping/etc. settings for the osCommerce PayPal IPN (v1.1) contribution, but after I go through all of the steps of making a purchace, I return to the catalog only to discover that the price for the item I purchased is being displayed as "$0.00". When I check out the settings under the admin panel, I find the price to be "$2.00", which it should be. Logging out and logging back into my customer account does not fix the problem, but if I clear my cookies (I'm using Firefox) the price changes back to what it should be ($2.00). I'm not sure what could be causing this problem...but it doesn't seem right...???
