margins

Recommended Posts

I want to et a 1" margin around the entire body of my site because I think it looks kinda rough if the whole monitor is being used.

What file can I set this in and what is the attribute i need to edit?

try this in your stylesheet.css

find

TR.header {
 background: #ffffff;
}

and replace with

TR.header {
 background: #ffffff;
 width:800px
}

you can change the width from 800 pixels to whatever you want it to display

Set your main table widths to create a "space" around your site.

The above solution will f*ck up your background colors and nothing more as the table widths will STILL be set to 100%....

Grab one of the templates from my signature for a copy of a centered 760px wide site. Fits perfect inside an 800 px screen size with a little room for the scroll bar on the right. Will have the desired look you want for thos with screen rex higher than 800px.

Cheers. And thanx for using osCommerce. :-"

damn you got some nice templates :D

however, i was hoping for the site to be optimized for 1024x768, and your templates are a little too narrow for me. I built the site on 1280x1024 so I used larger images, and now I can't go back and change them :P

Do you have anyway to simply expand the sides, that is all i'm looking for, otherwise the templates are amazing.

Also, how do I edit the text on the main page of your template, it doesn't go to the language specific index.php >.<
