Morbius Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Trying to setup shipping for a small company. -They only want to ship in the US (plus Alaska and Hawaii) -Using a shipping table based on price no weight. So I need to know how to remove all the countries and just have the US with the states as a choice. I also need to know how to ADD $5.00 to orders that are to Alaska and Hawaii ($5.00 plus what is from the table shipping rates) Can someone tell me how this can be done. Also as an aside questions. When installing the cart I didn't check SSL but I will be adding it after the fact. Is there a way to enable it now that the cart has already been installed and setup etc. (I sure hope so) Thanks...
Morbius Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 I tried looking in the knowledge base and couldn't find an answer for this. Is it even possible?
Guest Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 Hate to be a pest... anyone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Go into your sql database, and edit the "countries" table. Delete all but the United States

The problem has to do with setting up shipping zones and flat rate shipping tables for continental US and an alternate for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. My customer does not ship out of the US, but with a busy cart, 5 to 10 orders a day, experience over the last 3 years has shown that only 1 out of 60 orders will be to Hawaii or Alaska, and 1 out of more than 100 will be for overseas. If you PM me, I will be glad to share the final solution with you, in the meantime, take a look at littledutchgirl.com to see how we handled the problem pending a better solution.
