:'( I'm new to OSC. I like it most over two other ecommerce programs that I was offered. I am still in the designing stage, but I'm trying to make sure I can process an order before I get too much into the design.

For now people are able to go into the store (http://fevaradio.com/frshop) and pay for an mp3 file to download. After they pay, they are supposed to be given a random link with an expiration on it and a number of times it can be used. the Chek-Out process works fine, but where it says "Download Link here" the link does not appear!!!! The file exists in the catalog/download folder and the permissions for the pub folder and download folder have been given.

Can anybody help me please???? I've been fighting with this for a few days now. Maybe I'm missing something! :o

Here's one possibility...

In your admin screen, go to Configuration -> Downloads. Do you have 'Download by redirect' set to true or false? (If you want them to be able to instantly download, it should be set to true.)

Hi. I'm getting the same problem, more or less. I've just installed OSC. I did set downloads to "true", set redirect to "true" set days to 5 and number of tries to 5. I also put the file in the right directory ("download") as specified in the config.php file. I also made sure that the permissions on <catalog>/download were 755 and 777 for <catalog>/pub as per knowledge base. When I place an order the payment is taken, but instead of giving me the download, I just get sent back to the commerce site in a logged-off state - no mention of a download anywhere and no URL. What's happening? How do we fix it?

Also, if anyone can tell me how to do a full test of a download purchase without having to spend any money, I'd be very grateful. Another problem - I can only get prices displayed as shole pounds and no pence. How do you fix that? Again - any help much appreciated.

Try the downloads controller contrib - or use the check payment module for testing.

Well I figured out how to get the download link to show up finally but now I am having a problem that the download link is returning a 404 page not found error when clicked.

I have uploaded the product file to the catalog/downloads folder and made sure the proper permissions were set.
