How to save a database & import it to a new site?

I'm trying to copy the database from one of my websites (megakidstore.com) and upload/import the database into a new store (kidshopusa.com). Could someone please walk me through this step by step?? I thought I had backed up megakidstore (using Admin) and downloaded it using Dreamweaver. When I go into Cpanel on KidshopUSA to import...it's looking for a "textfile"... What does this mean?

Note: kidshopusa has SSL enabled

megakidstore doesn't have SSL enabled.

Below is the warning that I'm currently getting at kidshopusa.com:

1146 - Table 'kidshop_osc1.configuration' doesn't exist

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

Any ideas on how to bring in an old database to a new site? What files need changing? Is this done through Cpanel or Admin?? What do I need to do to fix this error I'm getting? Please help!

To use a database from one store to another the stores need to be the same. If you have any contributions installed on one that needed you to make database changes then they will not be compatible.

What info are you trying to move over? and why are not you not transferring the complete store files and all?

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

Without SSL enabled, we were able to use the Admin platform to restore (from backup) a file that was placed in there. Thus, we were able to install the entire database from the admin/backup directory...every product category and every facet. Without renaming the OSC1 file (example: db_joesstore_OSC1-xxx.sql to db_mystore_OSC1-xxx.sql), it worked. Now with the SSL enabled on the site in question, it doesn't work at all. I tried renaming the file and it still doesn't work. I used the restore from backup function again with the file that I had uploaded with Dreamweaver MX, then hit restore...and this is the error I still get (below). Now I can't access the admin panel at all. The only access I have to the site is through the Cpanel.

So the basic question is...how do I copy 1 database and use it in another site? I was totally able to do this before I enabled SSL on the new site.

SLL should not keep you from doing a restore but you can bypass osC alltogether and use the sql file from your backup and import it to your new location using the sql tab in phpmyadmin.
