Thanks, but neither suggestion worked...

I just can't believe that changing ONE word would F this up!

There aren't ANY quotes enclosing the original default text.

It would SUCK if I couldn't use CAPS for marketing emphasis.

I'm going off to look for a book or tutorial site.

I you can help - PLEASE - help!

Dont use FILE MANAGER - it screws the php files. FTP the files you want to edit to your local, use a text editor and FTP them back.

Will.

Hey, thanks for the replies...

My host says I can't edit w/ the osC file manager, but:

"If you would like we can disable the .htaccess file that prevents access to your pages. Please keep in mind it is there for security so other people would not be able to access any of the php files in those directories that are not meant to be viewed from a browser."

I said - NO THANKS!

I did some more reading and research and then deleted that installation and started over (very easy thru my hosts companies control panel). Then I looked at the osC default store and my hosts tools again. I found a a text editor in the control panel that allows me to view & edit files and THAT worked... but it's not the best-est most-est user friendly-est method for the future.

I FTP'd everything to my local PC for editing & testing.

I found all the tools (I think) I will need for now - for FREE!

I got a self installing Apache Server, MySQL & PHP Code EDITOR.

You probably don't NEED the Apache / MySQL just to edit and FTP files, but they are useful and interesting for me.

Here are the links for other NOOBS like ME!
