I'm not a programmer so I need some very basic information about implementing SSL. What is the correct order of steps? Do I need to obtain it from a Thawte first? Then what? How do I implement it? It's one of our most popular topics of conversation. :) Your hosting service may offer a shared SSL certificate that you can use, and they can provide details. If you want to roll your own, SSL cert vendors all provide detailed, server-specific installation instructions. Yes, there is a lot of SSL information out there but not what I'm looking for. I would just like a simple guide to tell me what to do first. Do I buy the certificate first and then worry about installing and implementing it? One of the benefits of a forum is getting an answer to your question so you don't have to wade through hundreds of other posts or websites trying to put the puzzle pieces together.
