Guest
Hello, It seems to me to be a good idea top rename the admin folder, as anyone can type the address mysite.com/catalog/admin and get access to the admin section of the site. However, when I rename the folder to some thing else "admin7453" the links on the admin page don't work and generate the error: "No input file specified." So .. if I change the name of the admin foldr, where else do I have to change the name? and/or: What other methods are available to prevent access to the admin folder inside the catalog folder on the server? ♥Vger
After renaming the admin folder you need to go to admin(new name)/includes/configure.php and change the pathways to /admin/ to /newname/ - there should be two of them. Until you do this you won't get beyond the 'admin' landing page. You also need to Password Protect your 'admin' folder, which you can usually do via your web hosting control panel.
