Moving files to root directory

I am moving my store to a Plesk server which has the oscommerce install built in (sweet)!

At install it reuires that the files be loaded to a subdirectory of httpdocs.

Once installed everything works great if I access the files in the subdirectory (default is httpdocs/oscommerce) but I want all files in the root httpdocs.

So I move the files over and everything breaks. Updating the config file in a few places gets the store working but then the admin section isn't accessible (even with some tweaking).

Is there an easy way to force the install to the httpdocs folder thru the plesk install panel? You can't leave the directory folder blank prior to install since it is a required field...so a subdirectory must be input. Or, is there some guidance as to what files must be tweaked or updated when the entire site is moved from a subdirectory to the root?

Plesk install is so nice because it takes about 1 min to install the entire site. If there is no easy resolution I will install directly to the root folder thru FTP but then all the extra setup must be done.

Any help is appreciated.

There are two configure.php files one for the catalog and one for the admin. You need to make the same changes you made to the catalog one to your admin/includes/configure.php as well. Since you were able to get your catalog working you should not have much trouble.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

One more note...I have updated the admin config files also and I believe everything is there as need be.

Once I move and tweak the config files the store works great but I can't log into the admin panel anymore (login worked prior to the file move).

At the login screen to the admin panel I enter the correct name and password but it doesn't take...the login screen just reappears.

Broken link but where? I simply removed any info in the admin config file that pointed to the subdirectory.
