OSVS Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I am using the table rate method to calculate my shipping costs. All items I carry are 1 pound so I am using the table based on weight. 1 item (1 lb) is $5.75 2 items (2lbs) is $11.50 3 items (3lbs) is $9.75 - this is where our discount comes in, and it is an additional $3.25 for every item (pound) after this. The table I am using is as follows: 1:5.75,2:11.50,3:9.75,4:13.00,5:16.25,6:19.50,7:22.75,8:26.00,9:29.25,10:32.50,1 1:35.75,12:39.00,13:42.25,14:45.50,15:48.75,16:52.00,17:55.25,18:58.50,19:61.75,2 0:65 I have calculated up to 20 pounds. When someone places an order for 1 item = 1 pound the shipping goes to $9.75 Then another person placed an order for 3 items (3 pounds) and it was $13.00 then a 2 item (2 pound) order shipped for $9.75 Is there a problem calculating the table as I have it written? Do I need to begin with a 0 weight? Thanks in advance Quote
TerryK Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Look in your Admin screen -> Store Configuration -> Shipping/Packaging section. What is your maximum package weight listed as? And how about your package tare weight, and larger packages percentage increase? Those will probably provide a clue as to why shipping isn't being calculated right. (If you post them here I'll try and help you figure it out.) OSVS Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Max package weight is 50 Tare weight was set to 3 Percentage was set to 10 I edited the tare weight to 1, and it now calculates correctly on a 1 pound package, but does not change if I add more items/weight to the order? I'm new to this, so I greatly appreciate your help. Quote
TerryK Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Hi Philip, I found the tare weight and large package weights really mucked with my shipping costs, so I set both of them to 0 and factored in the packaging with each product directly. Whether that would work for you or not, I'm not sure. If you have only calculated up to 20 pounds, with your maximum package weight at 50, I believe any orders with weights over 20 pounds will only be charged the 20 pound rate. You might want to set your maximum weight to 20 pounds to cover that scenario. Do you have a URL where I can look at your shipping and see if I run into problems with it? If you don't want to post it for the world to see, you can send it to me in a PM...
