Guest
I am considering the use of osCommerce as a restaurant ordering system for both employees and customers... a cursory survey turns up 1: http://www.pacificrimthai.com.au/ Has anyone implemented such a system? Any comments on how it went, what to consider, etc (as I have little restaurant industry experience) would be great. Also, if you have any suggestions as to what you would Like from a restaurant site running osC, let me know!
Guest
Some issues to consider: Delivery vs. Pick Up... and the associated payment types for each. The simple method would require payment online. What about taking cash on delivery? The order would need to be completed and perhaps edited after the delivery or pickup was made. Tips... A extra field to track tips at the register and the appropriate person getting tipped. This could be linked from the Staff at point of sale, where they have a way to calculate tip and add them up at the end of their shift. Each staff user could have a special osC account for this. Guest
Did you find any more advice on using OSC for take out and or delivery. I have installed the shopping cart for about a half dozen people selling produces but need to build something for a caterer who is setting up a high end meal delivery site. Keep me posted. thanks,
