Can't start Administration Tool

Recommended Posts

I just installed osCommerce (2.2 MS 2) on a default Suse 9.1.

Everything worked smoothly.

When I try to start the administration tool I get the following output in the browser:

Parse error: parse error, expecting `','' or `';'' in /srv/www/htdocs/shop/admin/includes/classes/sessions.php on line 33

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_set_save_handler() in /srv/www/htdocs/shop/admin/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 63

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

Another issue:

When I start the shop I get a warning that the configure.php file is writable. I already set the permissions to 644.

What is the preferred owner and group of the shop folder (normally one would use wwwrunner/www as the owner/group) on a Suse installation ?

Try setting the chmod to 444
