discxpress
I have Frontpage 2003 and have loaded OsCommerce into my server. What do I do next? I'm clueless about php and don't know where to start. I notice that I don't have the php.ini file, do I need it? Do I have to make changes in the code itself or is there some plug n play feature in Frontpage that I need to know about? Please I'm desparate for help!!!!!!!! ♥Vger
The first thing you will find out is that FrontPage server extensions and osCommerce do not go well together. Best advice - get your hosting company to remove FP extensions from your domain, and then you should FTP to your website and manually remove all folders starting with vti_ (these are FP folders and are not automatically removed when FP extensions are disabled). You will probably not have access to the php.ini file on a shared hosting environment. There is no plug-n-play feature in FP that has anything to do with osCommerce. What you should do, to be able to make changes to your website offline and to view them as a test website, is to install a local web server on your home computer. I would recommend XAMPP, an all-in-one package that includes everything you need to get going. In the Documentation section (link at top of this page) you will find all the info you need on installing osCommerce either locally or on your website.
