my category name length is limited

Just really to check if in the right direction:

 

In the admin when i enter a long category name the text is cut. Is there are easy way to stop this or do I have to change the tables varchar value.

 

If so which table

You have to change table categories_descrition field categories_name

Of course, you might find it messes up the look of the categories infobox (in the left column)

I agree, don't make them too long but you can also change the width of the left column to like 150 which I did mine and it looks great even at 800 x600.
