It offers a "click to enlarge" that shows the image at the full size, but if the fixed proportions are wrong, it will look funny. What I think will work is setting Small Image Width and Small Image Height to blank (no value) and setting Calculate Image Size to true. I have not tested this. Ah, took too long to enter this... The way I would suggest doing that is to remove the code that displays the image in the product info page, and include an appropriate <img> tag in your product description. But then you won't be able to see an image of the product elsewhere in the store. You might want to see if one of the contributions dealing with product pictures, such as More_Pics, helps with this.
