Credit Card processing

I have installed osCommerce and set up a test store. It allows me to place an order but I have no idea what happens when an order is placed. I can't find anywhere in the configuration or admin tools where I specify a credit card processing service. Does osCommerce use a default credit card processing service or do I need to do something to set up my store so that it can accept credit card orders?

Look in Admin | Modules | Payment.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still confused. Suppose that the Credit Card module is enabled and a user places an order. I haven't entered any info about an account that the money could go into so what would osCommerce do with the payment? Does osCommerce actually process the credit card order and notify me? If so what does the processing cost me?

You need to decide on what Payment Gateway you wish to use, contact that service and signup with them.

You can also use the Credit Card module if you have a merchant account and a card terminal like a retail store has.

osCommerce does not process the payment, it just passes the information to the payment processing service.

Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.

I'm testing a store using the standard credit card module, I have set the email address so that half the number is stored in mysql and the rest is mailed to the user - all works according to spec - BUT - when the customer is actually entering their credit card details they are on an unsecure page - I expected osC to 'automatically' use the https url that is defined in <catalog>/configue.php.

What am I missing?
