marcus76
hi, I have a question to php people / SEO gurus. Is the format of the following URL valid? http://www.domain.com/index.php?enter+keywords+here&cPath=62 Is it breaking any php / MySql rules, maybe search engines dont like it? The link works on my site (substituting the domain.com for mine), i just wanted to know if this would be suitable for using to pass keywords in URL's? and as opposed to the default standard below: http://www.domain.com/index.php?cPath=62 Thanks Marcus
stevel
I would think it should have keyword= before the keywords, but otherwise that's valid. What do you want to do with this? Bear in mind that search engines tend to dislike the same content at different URLs - they think you're spamming the index. marcus76
yeah i looked at that contrib and decided against implementing... i rank quite well for alot of my keywords, but i notice the URL's are in the format of : http://www.domain.com/index.php?enter+keywords+here&cPath=62 so i thought why fix what's not broken.... Steve, I've been told: keyword= before the keywords and kw= before the keywords which is it? you know? cheers Marcus
stevel
In this context, "keyword" is whatever you want it to be so that the form processing can retrieve the value. It could be foobar= if that's what you want. The word "keyword" has no special significance.
