Adding sizes / color options to product

HI,

 

I am having trouble figuiring out how to add sizes and color options to my products. I see where I can go to add these options but have no idea on how to actually implement it.

 

Does any one have any step by step instructions?

This is the way I did it...

 

Go to the Product Attributes section of the catalog.

Create a new Option Name such as Color and then click the Insert button.

Then to the right of the Options are the Option Values. The drop down box should contain your new option called Color. Enter the Option Values (Red, Green, Blue etc.) one at a time and click the Insert button for each one.

 

Now at the bottom, you should see a drop down list that contains all of your products. Select the product that needs the Color Option. Select the Option Value and click Insert. You need to do this for each color value you want to associate with the product.

 

If you are going to need two options such as Color and Size, you need to create two Options and Option Values for each. Then assign both Options and Option Values to your products.

 

Hope that all makes sense. I did this for size but haven't tried it with two options yet but I can see how it would work.

Also keep in mind that there are some pretty cool contribs to make working with attributes a little easier. One that my customer required was to sort the attributes in a paticular order. I used:

But there are a few contribs i saw that just replaced the attrib admin area completely. May want to check em out!
