Hello,

 

I've serached the forum for several days and still coud'nt find an answer for this.

 

I want to setup four Table Rate shipping with different names and different rates. Is this possible?

 

When I try to check-out it shows "Best Way" as the only available shipping method. How do I add Table Rate shipping (with different names as mentioned above) to the shipping options?

 

Is there a way to show shipping charges on the Cart?

Then do a second search for C1E and replace all instances with USA1.

Upload the files to your server, then go to your admin screen -> modules -> shipping and install the new module. Then edit prices, etc. and you should be set.

 

For another 3 files, just repeat the steps above but with new search criteria (i.e. usa2/USA2, usa3/USA3 and usa4/USA4 (or whatever you want to call them).

Shipping charges can't show until the cart knows where the order is shipping to, and by what method.

 

If you go to my store at:

 

http://www.kididdles.com/catalog

 

and add something to your cart, then go through the beginning of the checkout process, you'll see that I display the shipping charges on all of the checkout pages after the shipping method has been selected. Is that what you're looking for?

Let's say the customer sign-in to his account and keeps on adding products. Now we know where to ship. So if the customer wants to see the total shipping charges for the cart he should be able to check that from the shipping cart - i.e the charges for different shipping methods available.

Thanks again Terry. Your method works perfect.

 

I guess the shipping cannot be done the way I want. I'm planing to put a button in the shopping cart linked to the checkout screen where shipping is displayed. Then modify the page. I guess that is the only way to do it.

Hello Terry,

 

I've got a problem. While cheking out, if I choose any of those custom made shipping methods, it wont go forward to the next checkout screen. I get stuck in the Choose Shipping Method screen!

 

What do you think is the problem?

I just tried an order to the checkout_shipping page, and with US specified as my country in the account setup, it shows me:

 

Best Way Rf 109.23

 

If it still isn't working for you, copy the details for each shipping method and list them here so I can see what you have. (In the Admin -> Modules -> Shipping section, click on each one in the left, then copy and paste the info that shows up in the right column -- if that makes sense!)

Sorry Terry - I forgot about the country. I just changed your account to Maldives and now if you login, it will show you the other shipping options. It's the custom methods which are not working, Best Way works fine.

Okay...

 

Your air freight and fast post modules are both set up with Maldives as the only zone they are available for. If someone registers from another country, do these shipping rates apply? Or are the rates different? If the latter, then you'll need to create another shipping module to handle orders from locations outside Maldives. If you wanted to over, for example, surface and airmail delivery to those areas, then you'd need two new modules. Does that make sense?

Thank you for the fast response.

 

For Air Freight it should be: upto 80kg rate $1.72; between 80 and 100kg rate $1.3; between 100 and 200kg rate $1.16 - hence I've set 80:1.72,100:1.3,200:1.16 - handling charge is $ 25.00.

 

Why would configuring this wrongly create the above said problem?

Actually, I would be only entertaning orders from Maldives. No shipping for other countries. I guess, I have to remove all the other countries from the registration area so that people from other countries cannot register.

 

But why is it not working currently even if I register using Maldives and try to checkout?

Well, I compared that code to the original and it looks okay.

 

Can you paste your /catalog/includes/modules/shipping/ new files as well as the associated English files?

 

For some reason, the two additional files aren't being recognized as valid shipping options. I tried changing your zone to 'none,' fixed the way your rates displayed as they seemed incomplete, and added a sort order to each. That didn't make any difference. So... let's see if there's something missing from your module files.

Mutho,

 

If memory serves me correctly, the file names can't have an underscore in them. Try changing air_freight/AIR_FREIGHT to airfreight/AIRFREIGHT -- ditto if your other file is named similarly.

 

Give that a shot and let me know if it makes a difference.
