hompage help index.php

I was updating the hompage and I thought I could just type in what I wanted to see, but I lost everything that was in the index.php, so now what I type in shows up at the top of the page in the header. Can any one help me. I do not understand how you customize the pages.

Hi..did you go to includes/languages/english folder to index.php? This is where you type in your text for the main page. You will see the original oscommerce text.

Just delete theirs and add yours being careful not to remove the (''). Example:

('text goes here.')
