Many thanks for sharing this info, I have just started to apply SEO to my OSC site. I have optimised many sites in the past but this is my first OSC. I hope we can learn from each other.

I have a couple of comments -

which contribution created the above tags? I was going to install the first 4 contributions in your completed tasks but would not want the tags as they are. Reasons?

- I thought the <TITLE> tag should always be the first tag above all the others.

- I would not want my email address visible on a webpage for email harvesters to collect

- The revisit tag is not taken any notice of by SEs

- I'm not sure what the tag is that starts <meta name="bouncing bear botanicals.

- I thought the keywords tag should be restricted to 6-8 keywords per page strictly chosen because they are present on the page. That said I don't think any SE actually takes any notice of KW now.

UPDATE:

Part of the Optimisation Project is now live on two sites. See the My Store (Community Feedback) forum.

Everthing has gone well so far

POSTS:

NEW OSC TheLoveFactory.co.uk Store

and

bouncingbearbotanicals.com : LIVE shop

The big thing missing is 100% CCS layout for category and product pages. This will be the next part of the project.

Wish me luck. If anyone else is doing this please share your experiences.

Regards,

Gareth

I haven't done a full keyword analysis yet, but I have got number one in Google (UK) for many of my section/category names.

my page titles are productname - site name.

I've deployed a sitemap and the allprods contribution - but the site was spidered before adding these.

The site used to be an EROL shopping site so already had a fair few backward links and PR
