Changing between alternate designs

I run a website www.uksoccershop.com selling football shirts, as you can see it is the standard design. I am happy with this design, but from time to time when certain events happen (for example the upcoming Champions League matches), I would like to be able to switch the design for a couple of days to promote the event, then revert back to the old design when it's over.

My question is, is this as simple as just designing a new template and then switching them over in the admin section?

It is if there is a template system installed. But osC by default does not come template ready.

There is great debate over which system is best - STS or BTS. Personally - I wouldnt use either as they dont allow the control that I need, so I do it the old fashioned way and edit the code as I see fit.

Good luck with your project.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by STS and BTS?

I do have a template system installed, so should I just create as many as I want and switch between them as I please?

If I do this, will it keep the original (current) design as it is just now when I switch back to it or will it go back to it's initial form?

If you have a template system installed you should know if its STS or BTS, and liekly know what they are...

I dont use template systems - you'll have to ask others on how they work.

I think changing the site around a lot is a mistake too btw. People look for consistency in an online shop. Constant change will not be very comforting to people.

Best of luck.
