Security Issue

Hi:

 

I have already installed os commerce in my server. I have deleted the install folder and I have a restricted folder wirh password and user to protect the admin folder. Can I do more things to protect my admin folder?. Can I use this way to protect other os commerce installations?.

If you did not rename your 'admin' folder before password protecting it - then it would be a good idea to go back and rename the folder to something unique (not admin2). Then, in your admin/includes/configure.php there are two entries which list admin/ and you need to change these to newname/

 

Then, you will have to Password Protect the folder again, as it is now under a new name.

 

If you are using a shared or full ssl then you can also change the http_server entry in admin/includes/configure.php from http://www.yourdomain.com to https://www.yourdomain.com (or whatever shared address you are using). This puts all of your 'admin' behind ssl.
