I am running an Appache server on a local Windows machine and I have not been able to figure out how to fix the problem connected with the message at the top of my pages:

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: C:/apachefriends/xampp/htdocs/xampp/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

Instructions in osCommerce Knowledge Base

http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/Common_Problems/20

state that

For Windows based servers, file permissions can be set via the File Properties dialog window.

I am not sure where to find this "File Properties dialog window."

A little help would be greatly appreciated.

I certainly appreciate your help. However, on Win2000 Professional when I click the Deny box after Read, my site disappears and is replaced by the following message:

Warning: main(includes/configure.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\xampp\catalog\includes\application_top.php on line 37

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/configure.php' (include_path='.;c:\apachefriends\xampp\php\pear\') in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\xampp\catalog\includes\application_top.php on line 37
