SSL is a Secure Socket Layer which basically means that all data going to and from the site using SSL is encrypted. In that way it is more secure. Your host can tell you all about how to obtain an SSL facility for your site. OSC is ready for it so after you have done all the required stuff server-side, you can edit both configure.php files to enable SSL within OSC. I set up my SSL it works great everything is secure....Stuff like that, But when i loge into my admin it still says my site is not SSL protected. So I have to change all my admin indexes to https for it to change or is that just fine and my site does not really need that? I have the admin page password protected but if there was a better way for me to secure the admin section that would be great. Thanks
Guest
Also, is it possible to change the admin folder to a different name so that people can't just go to my site/admin to see my information.

RikR
You should also be able to password protect your Admin directory. I did this using a feature on my host's cPanel. I see no advantage to using SSL on admin. It will slow it down, and adds no protection except for possible intercept of your data between you PC and your host. It does not lock people out of your admin, but password protecting it will. Rik Rasmussen
