Hi Folks,

I need help. I am ne and finally figured out how to configure and customize OS-Commerce. It looks awesome. However, I cannot use it right now due to the shipping module or lack thereof.

My current shopping cart (Not OS-Commerce) allows for me to set a flat rate of $4.95 for any product ordered. Then it adds $.025 cents per pound on top of it. This works great.

If someone orders 1 air freshener that weighs 1 pound, they get charged $4.95 plus $0.25 for a total of $5.20.

If they order a case of Underpads that weigh 18 pounds they get charged $4.95 + $4.50 for a total of $9.45 for shipping. etc etc.

The flat rate covers me for the light weight items and the more they order they see a little break on the actual shipping charges.

Anyone help Please. I have looked through all of the posts and have found nothing.

Thank you. :D

Hi you can use my module to do this:

It might be overkill, but it will do what you need... if you only need one shipping zone and one table, just change the configuration before enabling in admin.

If you are using the same rates for the entire world, you don't need to setup any shipping geo zones. In the module just select "Rest of the world" as the zone. If not, then setup the shipping zones you need in admin (actually are setup under Tax Zones, but these can be used for other things too, like payment and shipping zones).

Then set the table method to weight, and the table to "1:25%" (that means 1 pound or more, charge 25% of the weight, i.e, 25 cents per pound). and then set the handling fee to 4.95. Then you've got it.
