A Potential User looking for Help

I am thinking of using OSCommerce for my E-Commerce shop. I need some answers to some questions before I 'make the switch'. Can someone help please:

I would like to:

? Have a product on display that has several different colours? I would like to have a 'Main Product' and then show images for each colour (ie PUMA Sports Jacket- comes in RED and BLACK can I have the BLACK image on show and then have colour swatches underneath that show the image of RED jacket if the customer clicks the colour? Or would I have to create a 'new product' for each colour (ie PUMA jkt in Black PUMA jacket in RED?

? Place a colour of an item on SALE without placing the other available colours on SALE? ie a jacket sells well in RED but not in BLACK I want to put only the BLACK on sale- would I have to create a new product for the colour BLACK?

? Could someone please point me to a website that sells clothing so I can have a look at how you have handled the colour issues.

? Import stock control data by importing a flat excel data file? For instance we use the T2T EPOS system and I would like to to have live stock info online but it needs to be integrated easily. NORCAT imports data from T2T into the Actinic Catalogue- has anyone used NORCAT for OSCommerce?

? Create Promotions by BRAND? ie put all of the clothing from say PUMA on sale at once?

? Create categories by PRICE ie have a winter sale and assign products to that category so that it can be promoted on the homepage.

? Have products displayed in more than one category- ie. some men's hats are also suitable for women- could I have the product in both categories?

Is there a place where I can read about the attributes of OSCommerce? I would like to know what it can do. My developer has used it in the past but I would like to research it for myself as well.

Thank you
