cregy
Hi First time I have used osCommerce. I have set up a site at https://www.abistudios.co.uk/oscommerce using a standard install through my isp. It set up the standard shop. It has an error message "Warning Warning: The sessions directory does not exist: /tmp. Sessions will not work until this directory is created." I have created a /tmp fdirectory in both root and oscommerce and chmod to 777 but it still doesn't get rid of the error messages. The default set-up also says this is a deafult setup for demonstration purposes. How do I make the shop become real? And finally what settings do I use to get GBP to become the default currency? Thanks for the help. I know there will be more! Rich

Rich <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In your two configure.php files change define('STORE_SESSIONS', ''); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql' to define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql' If you read the text it tells you what file you need to edit to the front page. However do not use the online file manager in the admin as it is buggy and will do bad things to your store. You need to edit your files locally and then ftp them back to your server. You can set your currencies in your admin. The best thing you can do is read through the knowledge base. Lots of good info and well worth the time. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
cregy
Thanks for the help. I did take a look at the configure files but I couldn't see what to do! Thanks once again! The only other thing I wanted to ask was, "Is there a setting for the default GBP settings that I could use?" Rich You can set your currencies in your admin.
