I have noticed today that i had 4 orders that for payment method it was blank

I check paypal and my credit card company and they had not payed. I spoke to one customer and they stated that theywere not offered to enter credit card details but he could not remember if he was offered to select payment method.

the customer did state that he got the the order sucessfull screeen

I have paypal ipn and protx installed as payment modules

I have tried to recreate the problem but can not. i thought it was that users were not dotting the payment methos box but if you do not put a dot in it you get an error message stating that you have not selected a payment method.

has anyone eperienced this or has any ideas i have searched the forum but can not find anything.

Thanks in advance

Check back with the customers and find out which browser and version they were using. If your site has ssl for payment pages etc. and they have an old browser which only supports 40 bit encryption then this may cause problems. It may also be that you have a coding problem which is not apparent in one browser but shows up in others. So check in IE, Firefox, Mozilla and Opera to see if you can replicate the problem.

Finally, check with them to see if they are AOL customers, as AOL's system of caching everything on the page on seperate servers with different ip addresses is a total nightmare for e-commerce websites.

I have had an e-mail back from one of the customer saying he was asked to provide his address details and then he clicked contine and he then was forwarded to thankyou for your order

I do not use ssl as I only take there address details no credid car details

one of the customers that it happened to had sucsefully placed orders in the past

thanks for the responce
