Guest
I'm having the same exact issue. Am trying to setup my osC with 2CO and Paypal and realize that it's not a secure transaction. My host also gives me a Shared SSL feature but they are not very helpful and I am trying to figure out how to actually USE IT with osC. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ozcsys
When using paypal or 2CO or any processor where the customer leaves your site to process the payment the cc info is never on your site so as long as paypals site is secure there is not a problem. The only issue you then have is how well you secure your customers personal info. While using ssl when you process cc's off site is not actually required it will look much better to the customer and make them fell much better about doing business with you. As far as using ssl certificates having your own looks much better and even with install and a dedicated ip address you can get one for less than $100 a year. If you must use a shared certificate you will need to get the path from your hosting company and edit your configure.php files. There are more threads on that in this forum than you can beat down with a stick so a search should give you more info than you can use. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
