intergrating shopping cart with existing site

I'm trying to implement the shopping cart to my existing site, but have not been able to figure it out. Can anyone give me some tips? i tried reading some of the dicussions but nothing is working. Do I have to download the cart onto my computer and modify it that way? Or do i make the changes diirecty though my adiministator?

Unless you really know what you are doing you are not going to be able to just seperate osC and add the cart portion to your existing site.

 

You can install it to a seperate folder like catalog or shop and then link to it or you can change it to match your existing site and use it in the root. If you have an existing html site you want to match you may want to look at the sts template systems in the contributions.
