mark27uk3 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Hi Guys, We have been using WorldPay now for a couple of months and it is working really well. My customers feel confident in purchasing from us and the few dodgy transactions that certain people have tried to do have fallen flat on their faces. However, I just recently had a 'Site Compliance Check' done by WorldPay and they insist that I am not allowed to use their gateway for selling mobile phone sim cards, now I am still arguing the point with them that there is risk in these products what so ever but they will just not listen. Another product issue is the selling of mobile phone unlocking equipment, they see this as dodgy too, but everyone sells this stuff and I have never heard of any problems before. Understandably they want ?750 from us as a retainer for chargebacks before we can sell mobile phones on our site (which is a bit much for a new startup to pull out!). What I would like to ask everyone here, especially the uk traders - do you know of any mobile phone websites that are using WorldPay to process the products I mentioned above. I am just trying to get a bit of leverage over them! ;) Thanks Mark  Lifes a bitch, then you marry one, then you die!
♥yesudo Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 When Worldpay agree an account they also agree a credit limit - ask them why this is not sufficient to cover risk - as that is what it there for. If needbe can they not reassess your credit limit to see if it can be raised. Your online success is Paramount.
mark27uk3 Posted February 5, 2005 Author Posted February 5, 2005 Hi Emmet, I can recall ever having a credit limit, I have never gave them any money except for my setup fees. Mark Lifes a bitch, then you marry one, then you die!
burt Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 You would have had a site compliance check before you started trading with Worldpay. Were these products on your site when you had that 1st check? If so, then they should have told you then. If not, (in other words you subsequently added them), then you don't really have a leg to stand on. I suspect that probably these products were mentioned in the T&C to which you signed up. Ask Worldpay if you can view them... ?750 is not such a large amount that it needs to kill your fledgling business - can anyone help you with a loan or perhaps an overdraft from your bank etc. I hope you get it sorted out anyway.
