poster Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I am sorry for the stupid queston. How do I add a downloadable product? I enabled it in the configuration but can't figure out how to add one. Is there something I should be aware of? Thanks!

Thanks! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Set up your download product settings in admin This creates an attribute in the attribute page - when you have created your downlaod product AND uploaded it to the downloads directory - go into the attributes page in admin and set the attributes for the download at the bottom of the page Charles A kite flies highest AGAINST the wind ! OceanRanch Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Well there is not alot of documentation here on it but it's pretty easy and post questions when you get into trouble. http://www.oscommerce.info/kb/osCommerce/A...nfiguration/162 Here's a thread that may assist (search the forums as well. http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=123954&st=0 In short, perform the following. Make sure your folders are setup for pub and downloads per the first link I gave you. Should be 777 read/writable to all. Then ftp the download file to your site and place it in the download folder. The download folder name should be the same as the one in your configure.php files. Then add a product (your) download product and set weight to zero. Add an attribute via the admin attributes facility for downloads and add it to your product. The link to the download will show up in your customers order once you have set the status to "delivered" You also might want to check out the "download controller" contribution for a bit more flexibility. I believe the one most folks are using is the following. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,994 HTH Tom
