RickHoeye Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Ok, I had someone do the install of osCommerce for a client of mine (www.jansmith.com/catalog).. I know a little about the configuration, and am able to go in a tweak as needed. The problem is that, when someone orders a product, it goes though - sends a thank you email, etc - but never processing all the way. Just sits in "pending" or "processing". Never goes through all the way. Linkpoint is selected for the payment module, the username is correct (I made sure it's active) ... Is there something I'm missing? Has anyone run acrossed this problem? Please help!!! Client is freaking out that they can't use their store!! thanks in advance! Rick Hoeye
bglkk Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Hi: That is by design, I believe. The osCommerce Order Status just serves to give store customers some notification, and has no relation to credit card authorization. You can set the initial order status for the Linkpoint module to any status you desire (Pending, Processing, Shipped...), and your customer can manually change the status as an order is updated. But your customer will still want to authorize the sale themselves, so as to avoid fraud. There is another Linkpoint module setting for Authorization Mode--you can choose Pre-Authorization or Immediate Authorization. However, there is a notice in the module about Immediate Authorization: "Immediate-authorization should only be used for virtual products without any shipping involved." Hope I'm making sense. :P "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST

And that's all I can edit from there. Is there another place in here I can find the authorization mode? Thanks again for the help. Rick

Rick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi: It appears that we are using different Linkpoint modules. I'm using Clifton Murphy's LinkpointMS1andMS2 Release 2: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1844 "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
