Sudden Problem with Check / Money Order module

All of a sudden, completed payments by check / money order are no longer going to my checkout success page, but to a page where it says my shopping cart is empty, even though the payment goes through and the order process emails were sent out.

 

Any ideas what would cause this?

 

The last change made to the database was this:

 

alter table orders auto_increment = 1000;

 

to make the orders start from 1000.

 

Could this have anything to do with the sudden misfunction of my check / money order module?

 

I tried replacing the module with the one from the original zip and it didn't fix it.

This is the standard check / money order module by the way. All of a sudden, instead of going to checkout success it says there's nothing in my cart, but the order process emails are still going out - this could be VERY confusing to customers.

Update, I uninstalled it, deleted it, re-uploaded it from the new package and installed it. Tested it and it still did the same thing.

 

Could the database change above have caused this and if so, how do I reverse it?

Please please please!! Someone must know what would cause a payment module to no longer go to the checkout success page?
